A Parisian Market

On our first Saturday, we set out to explore Parisian markets, which teem with different sounds, colors, and odors. I went to a market with two tight rows of stands stocked with fruits, vegetables, cheese, fish, meat, flowers, and even clothes.
From a distance, the bright colors of the stands and the fruits and vegetables caught my eye. As we entered the market, the sounds of customers calling out orders dominated. Smells announced each stand, especially the fish and cheese. I felt the brush of the wool coats of the other market-goers and the textures of the vegetables as I made my choices. The market was truly stimulating for all the senses.
We bought fruit, vegetables, cheese, bread, and juice at the market and picnicked at the Luxembourg Gardens; what a beautiful lunch!
